Las Vegas, the City of Lights, is a popular destination in the US for several reasons. Whilst it boasts museums, art galleries and a range of resorts to enjoy, it is best known for the casinos on its world-renowned Strip, and beyond. Popularized in films such as The Hangover and Ocean’s Eleven, Las Vegas is instantly recognizable across media.
Travel planning tips and photos from Nevada.
The Venetian & Palazzo resorts are among the famous casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. A scaled down copy of Venice, Italy, the Venetian follows the successful formula of Las Vegas: gambling, shopping, restaurants and some special attractions. Let’s explore together my favorite things to do at the Venetian, Las Vegas.
Each Cirque du Soleil show is a combination of circus styles from around the world, with its own central theme and story line. Shows use continuous live music, with performers rather than stagehands changing the props. We visited Las Vegas recently and we were determined to see a Cirque du Soleil show. We found that there were many shows in town but only one that was family oriented. Read on about my five reasons why I think Cirque du Soleil is unique.
On our recent trip to Vegas I noticed an ad for the 50 greatest photos in the long history of the National Geographic publication. On the one hand I was so excited to go see it, on the other hand I was wondering if it is worth it or not. After all the pictures are all available on line, so why pay to go see them? Keep reading about my experience visiting this photo exhibit.
Here is more about the amazing food in Las Vegas. I think the amount of famous chefs per square mile is by far the highest in Las Vegas than anywhere in the world. If you have the opportunity to visit Las Vegas, make sure you set aside part of your budget to try the amazing variety and quality of the Las Vegas restaurants. While food can be expensive in Vegas, trying some amazing food should be part of everyone’s Vegas experience.
The best, the biggest and the most exotic things are in Las Vegas! Without a doubt, Las Vegas has become some sort of Disneyland for the adults. Leaving aside the depraved and dirty Las Vegas night life, this place has one subtle but powerful attraction that makes every visit to Las Vegas a memorable one. What is this one Las Vegas attraction? Read on to find out.
Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular attractions in California. It is mostly known as one of the best winter resorts in the world. However spending a Lake Tahoe summer is a great family vacation as well. Let’s explore my favorite Lake Tahoe beaches.
After relaxing on the beach and having lunch at Kings Beach, we drove back down through Nevada on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe. Sand Harbor looked like a really nice place to spend the afternoon. So we did stop and we continued our relaxation into the afternoon and evening. According to the Nevada park service, Sand Harbor is the most popular, with sandy beaches, a boat launch, picnicking and group use facilities. Yep, the sandy beaches is definitely true…and much more.
We finally got to visit Lake Tahoe, California. Both my wife and I were dreaming about being able to visit Lake Tahoe for a long long time. With a toddler and a newborn we kept thinking that it will be a while before we could enjoy some time at Lake Tahoe. However, in the middle of September, we attended a wedding for some good friends of ours in Sacramento and then we decided to go visit Lake Tahoe since it’s only one hour away from Sacramento. It was well worth the effort. There is a lot to write about Lake Tahoe, but for now enjoy only the Lake Tahoe photo galleries.
When we visited Las Vegas, we decided to drive all the way to the Grand Canyon. On the way to the Grand Canyon we have stopped at Hoover Dam…of course we did! It’s was right on our way from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. This was a good opportunity to stretch our legs a little and see some breathtaking views of the Colorado River and of the Hoover Dam.
