First Impressions & Travel Photos from Sirmione Italy

Sirmione, Italy is definitely a popular tourist spot. We visited Sirmione in August and it was filled with tourists. After walking around the village a little bit we immediately realized why Sirmione is such a popular tourist spot in Northern Italy. Read on to find the reasons and see my pictures from Sirmione.

Sirmione is a very popular tourist spot in Northern Italy. The first reason for its popularity is the location…it’s an amazing location on Lake Garda (Lago di Garda). Secondly, it boasts a beautiful medieval village with old walls and narrow cobbled streets. We were very impressed with this very old place and wished we could’ve spent more time here. Let me share with you my first impressions from visiting Sirmione for the first time.

1. Sirmione has Amazing Location

The east side of the old town boasts a beautiful beach and a stunning view of Lake Garda and the far eastern shore.

Sirmione has a very special location in Italy. It is built on an peninsula on Lake Garda. It is located on the south shore of Lake Garda, smack in the middle. This beautiful location gives the tourist great views of the lake and the eastern and western shores. It’s just gorgeous!

2. Sirmione has Intricate History

Secondly, Sirmione boasts great history. At the very tip of the peninsula the tourist finds the old medieval village complete with walls and a beautiful entry gate. The narrow streets of the medieval village are just delightful and they are full of shops and delicatessen places.

Is Sirmione Worth Visiting?

We loved visiting this Sirmione on Lake Garda and we highly recommend it when touring Northern Italy. With amazing views and warm waters, Lake Garda and especially Sirmione are stunning destinations.
