Genova, Italy has a beautiful location on the Ligurian sea and an amazingly intricate history. The city has been built in layers over the course of history. This layering is especially visible from the old port area as it allows for a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. Short tour of quaint Soave, Italy

Soave, Italy - Beautiful Soave Castle seen on the hill from the village below. Soave, Italy was a small village that we knew nothing about when we visited Italy. We simply saw it from the freeway and decided to stop…and we were glad we did it. It is definitely a very old small village with an impressive castle and beautiful views of the surrounding country side. Soave, Italy is a delightful day trip from Verona or Lake Garda. The stairs leading to the castle provide beautiful views all around the area and the surrounding hills are simply beautiful with grape vines stretching in all directions. Pismo Beach, California – Astonishing views and fun activities

As holidays approach plans are underway in most of the people’s mind on which destination they want to visit. The best place to be where you can have fun in a beach is the Pismo state beach where you will also enjoy bird watching which is a popular activity there. In the US it’s the park which has the largest over – wintering colony of Monarch butterflies. The park is located in the town of Oceano off Highway 1.

Treviso, Italy is a surprising tourist destination

Old building in TrevisoTreviso is a small town in the region of Veneto in Northern Italy. Because Treviso is so close to Venice it gets bypassed by tourists because Venice is such a hot tourist attraction. This makes Treviso a quiet town to visit with plenty of historical buildings and attractions. We definitely enjoyed walking through its narrow streets and admiring the many old buildings scattered all over the town. Treviso boasts a large university and it is also an important industrial city. All this makes Treviso a worthwhile tourist attraction…if you have already seen Venice.

Milan, Italy is a bustling city with an amazing history

We landed in the middle of a very busy large Italian city and we were relieved that Milan was only going to be a quick stop on our Northern Italy itinerary. Milan is the industrial and financial capital of Northern Italy and as such it is a city full of life. For the tourist, however, Milan is not very exciting. Barcis, Italy is a relaxing place at the foot of the Dolomiti mountains

Barcis,Italy - Beautiful view of Lago di Barcis (Lake Barcis)Northern Italy is home of most of Italy’s industry but it’s also home of some of the most beautiful mountain scenery as well. The Italian part of the Alps with the Dolomites mountain range gives the tourist unending scenery to delight in and plenty of space to relax. Barcis is a very small tourist village nestled at the foothills of the Dolomiti Friulane National Park on the shores of Lago di Barcis (Lake Barcis). Driving to Barcis will take you thorough some of the longest tunnels in Italy, but it will also give you beautiful and amazing natural beauty to behold.

Buellton is a small town north of Santa Barbara, California. It is right next to the 101 freeway and it provides very easy access to the California central coast area. However, there is not much to see and do in Buellton itself, but the area around Buellton is full of natural beauty and tourist attractions. Oso Flaco Lake, California is a surprising place among sand dunes

The sand dunes around Pismo Beach are barren and suitable only for ATVs and “four wheelin”. However, there is one natural gem, hidden right between sand dunes. This gem is a fresh water lake called Oso Flaco Lake. Oso Flaco means Skinny Bear in Spanish. Oso Flaco Lake was discovered by Spanish conquistadors way back in the 19th century while they were scouting the California coast. Today, Oso Falco Lake has been turned into a well preserved and well cared for park which is very surprising to the visitor.

Lake Tahoe, California – exploring the hidden beach at Sand Harbor

Sand Harbor on a sunny day - thumbnail.After relaxing on the beach and having lunch at Kings Beach, we drove back down through Nevada on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe. Sand Harbor looked like a really nice place to spend the afternoon. So we did stop and we continued our relaxation into the afternoon and evening. According to the Nevada park service, Sand Harbor is the most popular, with sandy beaches, a boat launch, picnicking and group use facilities. Yep, the sandy beaches is definitely true…and much more.
