Pinnacles National Park, California – 2 great family hikes

Pinnacles National Park - Tall rocky pinnacles towering over Bear Gulch ReservoirPinnacles National Park in California is the newest national park in the United States. And as such this park is not very well known. This is a good thing especially in California where the national parks get very busy starting with the spring are become very difficult to visit getting very busy with tourists. Pinnacles National Park was very easy to visit since they were not that many people even on a Saturday. Our family enjoyed two great hikes which were also a lot of fun.

Monterey, California – Scenic beauty everywhere

For one thing if you have driven all the way to the small town of Big Sur you can might as well drive to Carmel and then a little further to Monterey. If you have the time to do this drive, you will be rewarded by gorgeous scenery on the 17 mile drive and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. In addition you will get to experience an old town feeling when walking on the Old Canery Road.

Big Sur, California gives you amazing views of the California coast

Big Sur, California - Point Sur LighthouseBig Sur is an area on the coast of California, roughly in between San Simeon to the south and the little town of Big Sur to the north. It is not clearly defined and many people refer to different places when talking about Big Sur. Some talk about the Point Sur light house while some talk about the Julia Pfeiffer Burns park. Regardless of the proper definition of Big Sur, this area of the California Coast boasts some breathtaking views of the Pacific coast.
